Government Declares Thursday, March 6, 2025, a Public Holiday

Accra, March 3, 2025“ The Ministry of the Interior has officially declared Thursday, March 6, 2025, a Statutory Public Holiday in observance of Independence Day.
In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry reminded the general public that the day should be recognized and observed nationwide as a public holiday.
Ghana's Independence Day marks the country's liberation from colonial rule on March 6, 1957, and is celebrated annually with various national events and activities.
The public is therefore urged to take note and observe the holiday accordingly.
