Gyakie to Electrify Japan with Upcoming Concert in July

Ghanaian musician Gyakie is set to perform at the inaugural Afro Jam Festival in Japan, scheduled to take place from July 18 to 27, 2025. She will be performing in Okinawa on July 18, Osaka on July 24, and Tokyo on July 27. The festival will feature other notable artists, including Jason Derulo, Rema, Ruger, and Shenseea.
Gyakie expressed her excitement about the performance in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z, stating that her fans in Japan are eagerly anticipating her show. "I've been getting a lot of dms from my people in Japan that they cannot wait for me to get there. When I got the information that they needed me for the performance, I had to actually take in that I was going to Asia. I can't believe it," she noted.
The Afro Jam Festival aims to introduce and celebrate Afrobeats culture in Japan, which is rapidly becoming a market for the music genre. The festival is expected to further cement the global appeal of Afrobeats. Gyakie joins a growing list of Ghanaian musicians who have made inroads in Asia, including King Promise, KiDi, and the Santrofi band.
Recently, Gyakie released a new single titled 'Sankofa', which is taken from her upcoming album 'After Midnight'.
