24-Hour Economy to Launch on July 2 – Presidential Advisor Discloses

Accra, June 27, 2025 – The much-anticipated 24-hour economy initiative will officially be launched on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, according to Mr. Augustus Goosie Obuodum Tanoh, Presidential Advisor on the 24-hour economy.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Mr. Tanoh revealed that the program aims to transform Ghana’s production systems, with agriculture serving as the foundational anchor to enhance the nation’s value chain and boost productivity.
He explained that the initiative is structured around three core pillars: Production Transformation, Supply Chain and Market Efficiency, and Human Development. Together, these are expected to modernize the economy, improve competitiveness, and create sustainable employment opportunities through round-the-clock economic activity.
The Presidential Advisor led a delegation from the 24-Hour Economy Office at the Presidency to present the comprehensive 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme to the Speaker. The visit, he noted, was to deepen collaboration and ensure legislative backing for the implementation phase.
The 24-hour economy is one of the Mahama administration's flagship strategies to revitalize economic activity and position Ghana as a competitive player in global production and trade.
