BREAKING NEWS: OSP orders Ken Ofori-Atta to return to Ghana voluntarily or face enforcement.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has ordered former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to return to Ghana and face questioning over ongoing investigations. At a press briefing on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng revealed that Ofori-Atta had repeatedly ignored invitations for questioning, prompting the OSP to declare him a fugitive and add his name to its wanted list.
Ofori-Atta's legal team claims he is currently out of the country for medical reasons, but the OSP is unconvinced by the medical letter submitted by his lawyers. Agyebeng stated that the OSP will not accept the medical letter as a valid reason to halt investigations, emphasizing that Ofori-Atta must return to Ghana voluntarily or face enforcement.
The OSP is investigating Ofori-Atta's involvement in several cases, including a loss reduction contract between ECG and Beijing Jao, procurement issues related to the National Cathedral, contracts awarded by the Health Ministry to Service Ghana Auto Limited/Ambulances, and the SML-GRA deal.
Agyebeng warned Ofori-Atta that he has two choices: return to Ghana voluntarily or face enforcement. The OSP is determined to ensure Ofori-Atta's return to face questioning.
