The workers, responsible for sanitation and general maintenance, say their decision follows repeated but unsuccessful appeals to management for payment of their arrears.

The strike has disrupted operations at the facility, raising concerns about cleanliness and overall patient care.

In a related development, the Director of Temale Crentral  Hospital has stepped in to personally oversee and participate in cleaning activities at the hospital, as management moves to maintain hygiene standards in the absence of the striking workers.

Authorities are yet to issue an official response on the unpaid wages, while stakeholders are calling for urgent action to resolve the situation and restore normalcy.

The incident underscores persistent concerns over the treatment and welfare of casual workers within the health sector.
