PAJAG Calls on Government to Prioritise Ghanaian Businesses and Support Returnees Amid Rising Xenophobic Attacks in South Africa

The organization recommends a comprehensive audit of South African companies operating in Ghana and suggests non-renewal of expiring contracts where necessary. PAJAG also advocates for redirecting opportunities to Ghanaian entrepreneurs and establishing a national reintegration program for returnees, including access to credit, skills training, and employment opportunities.

The call comes as Ghana evacuates 300 citizens from South Africa following protests targeting foreign nationals. Ghana's government has expressed concern over the attacks, summoning South Africa's envoy and petitioning the African Union to address the issue. Businessman Ibrahim Mahama has offered support to affected Ghanaians, providing a cement depot and financial assistance to a returnee.
