GoldBod CEO Threatens Legal Action Over GH¢200 Million Disappearance Claims

In a legal notice issued through his lawyers, Mr. Gyamfi described the allegations as false, fabricated, malicious, reckless and defamatory, insisting they have no factual or legal basis. The notice demands the immediate cessation of the publication, republication and circulation of the claims across both traditional and social media platforms.

According to the legal team, reports alleging that Dominic Bonsu was or is Mr. Gyamfi’s personal bodyguard and that he absconded with GH¢200 million belonging to GoldBod are entirely untrue.

The lawyers further stated that Mr. Gyamfi has never met, known, engaged or maintained any personal or professional relationship with Dominic Bonsu. They also stressed that Mr. Bonsu has never served as Mr. Gyamfi’s bodyguard, employee, agent, representative or associate in any capacity.

The legal notice also rejected claims that GoldBod entrusted or transferred GH¢200 million, or any other public funds, to Dominic Bonsu, describing the allegation as “wholly without factual or legal foundation.” The lawyers warned that anyone who continues to publish or circulate the claims could face civil proceedings for defamation and other legal remedies.

The development follows an earlier statement by GoldBod, which clarified that while Dominic Bonsu’s company had its licence suspended over alleged regulatory breaches and he had been arrested in connection with ongoing legal proceedings, the Board had not lost or advanced GH¢200 million to him or his company. GoldBod also dismissed claims that he had ever served as the CEO’s bodyguard.
