Five newly appointed envoys officially presented their Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, at a formal ceremony held at Jubilee House on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

The distinguished diplomats included H.E. Ms. Laura Ranalli, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy; H.E. Mr. Julio Enrique Pujol Torres, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba; and H.E. Mrs. Musu Jatu Ruhle, Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia. Others were H.E. Dr. Abdulla Murad Sulaiman Mohammed Al Mandoos, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, and H.E. Mr. Ali Ghomshi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the ceremony, the envoys extended their congratulations to President Mahama on his election and expressed enthusiasm about strengthening diplomatic ties with Ghana. They outlined key initiatives they intended to pursue in collaboration with the government, emphasizing their commitment to fostering economic, trade, and cultural relations between Ghana and their respective nations.

Welcoming the envoys, President Mahama highlighted Ghana's s interest in deepening partnerships in various sectors, including agribusiness, where he stressed the need for investments to curb food inflation and enhance value addition in cocoa and sugar production. He also revealed plans to initiate the Ghana Labour Export Programme, aimed at creating legal employment opportunities abroad for trained Ghanaian youth while tackling human trafficking and exploitation.

Touching on economic reforms, the President spoke about the formalization of gold exports through the Ghana Gold Board and the efforts to revive the national airline. He also called for strengthened cooperation in the health sector, particularly in completing and managing uncompleted hospital projects to improve healthcare delivery across the country.

On regional security, President Mahama urged closer collaboration with international partners to combat terrorism in the Sahel region and maintain stability within ECOWAS member states.

The ceremony concluded with the newly accredited envoys reaffirming their commitment to promoting strong and friendly relations between Ghana and their respective countries.

In attendance were Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah; Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP); Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama; Legal Counsel to the President, Mrs. Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew; officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other government dignitaries.
