OSP Issues Ultimatum to Kenneth Ofori-Atta in Corruption Case
Ken Ofori Atta - Former Finance Minister

Accra, March 17, 2025 The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially responded to a lawsuit filed by Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta, who is challenging the OSP earlier declaration that he was a fugitive from justice and a wanted person.

According to the OSP, Mr. Ofori-Atta had requested that his name be removed from the wanted list, assuring authorities that he would make himself available for questioning on a set date. The OSP granted this request in good faith, removing his name pending his personal appearance.

However, the Special Prosecutor has now issued a firm directive: Mr. Ofori-Atta is mandatorily required to appear in person before the OSP on June 2, 2025. Should he fail to do so, his name will be reinstated on the wanted list, and he will be considered a fugitive once more. This would prompt the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice against him and trigger extradition proceedings in any jurisdiction where he is found.

The OSP reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring accountability, emphasizing that Mr. Ofori-Atta remains the prime suspect in five ongoing corruption and corruption-related investigations.

Signed by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, the statement underscores the high stakes in this case, as authorities move to ensure justice is served.
