2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers: Ghana to resume qualifiers with a doubleheader against Kwesi Appiah's Sudan in October

The Black Stars of Ghana will return action for the continuation of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in October 2024 after a disappointing performance against Angola and Niger.

Ghana’s chances of securing qualification to the continental showpiece has hit another roadblock after sharing the spoils with Niger in Morocco.

The Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw at the Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco, deepening the teams woes in the qualifying series.

Before this game, Ghana had suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium last week. Felicio Milson’s strike was enough to secure maximum points for the visiting team.

The West African powerhouse struggled to find their rhythm and ultimately share the spoils with their determined opponents.

Stade Rennes defender Alidu Seidu opened the scoring for the Black Stars before the halftime break.

But Niger staged a comeback to restore parity in the thrilling encounter in the second half through Oumar Sako.

With one defeat and a draw, the Black Stars finds themselves outside the top two teams in group F.

The four-time African champions will return to action in October and are set to battle it out with Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan in a doubleheader.

Sudan has been impressive under the former Black Stars, recording five wins and one defeat in six games so far.

Meanwhile, Otto Addo and his charges will be aiming for a positive results when they take on Sudan next month.
