He described the meeting as particularly demanding, given the volume and significance of business scheduled for consideration.

The agenda is expected to cover a wide range of parliamentary responsibilities, including legislation, financial oversight, public accountability, representation and other matters of national importance.

Mr Bagbin highlighted constitutional reforms and key legislative proposals as some of the major issues requiring attention, while urging Parliament to maintain high standards of scrutiny, conduct and institutional modernisation.

A major highlight of the meeting will be the presentation and consideration of the government's 2027 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.

He stressed that Parliament has a constitutional responsibility to exercise effective control over public finances and ensure that national priorities are translated into practical programmes and policies that improve the lives of citizens.

The Speaker further called on the relevant parliamentary committees to undertake thorough scrutiny of the budget estimates of ministries, sdepartments, agencies and various economic sectors.

He noted that the committees' reports would form the basis for informed deliberations and debates in the House before decisions are taken on the proposed budgetary allocations.
