Man City sign 33-year-old goalkeeper Bettinelli from Chelsea

On June 10, Manchester City officially announced the signing of 33-year-old goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea. The club confirmed the acquisition of the English shot-stopper, who has penned a one-year contract and will represent City in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Bettinelli, whose professional career began at Fulham before moving to Chelsea, will provide competition for Ederson and Ortega Moreno in City's goalkeeping ranks.
"I'm honored to join Manchester City," Bettinelli said. "I've admired from afar the achievements this club has made since Pep Guardiola arrived, and now I'm excited to be part of continuing that success. I can't wait to work with Pep, Xavi Hernández [Note: Likely a reference to Xavi Simons or a staff member; original text may have a typo], and the already exceptional goalkeepers here, learning from their methods up close.

I hope to contribute in training, the dressing room, and on the pitch to help the team win more trophies in the coming year."
Sporting Director Hugo Viana added: "We're delighted to welcome Marcus to our squad this summer. His rich Premier League experience will strengthen our already strong goalkeeping unit. We hope his experience and mentality will complement our other senior goalkeepers while ensuring he's ready to perform whenever called upon."
