The Ministry of Youth and Sports in it's response to the Confederation of African Football's withdrawal of approval for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to be used for the Black Stars' home games has requested for options in the University of Ghana and Accra Sports Stadium.

The Ministry in a letter dated September 12, 2024, has directed the Ghana Football Association to make a request to CAF to inspect the University of Ghana and Accra Sports Stadium for next month's game against Sudan.

CAF withdrew its approval of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium following technical infractions, including unsuitable playing field.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium has been closed after Ghana's game against Angola, with the National Sports Authority ordered to fix all problems spotted by CAF.

However, according to the Ministry, since CAF's last inspection of the Accra Sports Stadium, all issues identified has been resolved making it available to host matches.

Meanwhile, the University of Ghana Stadium has already hosted CAF Category B matches but since it's inauguration, CAF is yet to inspect the stadium.
