Bryan Acheampong Suffers Popularity Crisis; Courage Without Wisdom Is Dangerous – Kwesi Botchway Jnr., Esq.
JHNews || Dr. Bawumia’s aide, Kwesi Botchway Jnr., accuses Bryan Acheampong of suffering a “popularity crisis” and warns Kennedy Agyapong that “courage without wisdom” could destroy the party’s unity.

Accra, Ghana — Aide to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kwesi Botchway Jnr., Esq., has taken a strong swipe at two of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) leading presidential hopefuls — Dr. Bryan Acheampong and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong — questioning their political readiness and leadership credentials.
In a statement widely circulated on social media, Mr. Botchway described Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the Minister for Agriculture, as a politician “suffering from a popularity crisis”, insisting that he lacks the political gravitas and grassroots appeal necessary to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
“Bryan Acheampong lacks the political gravitas to lead the NPP. Leadership in our party is earned through consistent loyalty, humility, and service — not through boardroom declarations or state power,”
— Kwesi Botchway Jnr., Esq.
Turning his attention to Kennedy Agyapong, the outspoken Assin Central MP, Mr. Botchway cautioned that “courage without wisdom is dangerous,” suggesting that passion and boldness alone are not enough to guide a complex political movement like the NPP.
“Courage is good, but courage without wisdom is very dangerous. Leadership is not about shouting or insults — it’s about intellect, patience, and maturity,”
— Kwesi Botchway Jnr., Esq.
Mr. Botchway reaffirmed that Dr. Bawumia remains the most credible, competent, and unifying figure within the NPP, capable of sustaining the party’s vision and delivering on national development.
The comments come at a time when internal competition within the NPP has intensified ahead of the January 31, 2026 presidential primary, as leading candidates continue to jostle for influence and delegates’ support.
