GES Revokes Appointments, Orders Staff Validation

Accra, March 5, 2025, The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the revocation of appointments and recruitments as part of efforts to clean up its payroll system. Affected staff are required to undergo a validation process to confirm their recruitment status.

In a directive issued to Regional Directors of Education, GES management stated that all affected employees must submit their appointment letters, academic certificates, licensure certificates, and national service certificates for verification.

A three-member committee, comprising the Regional Human Resource Officer, Regional Internal Auditor, and Regional Accountant, has been tasked with overseeing the validation process.

The affected staff have been given until March 14, 2025, to complete the process, after which reinstatement will be determined.

According to the Acting Director-General of GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, the exercise aims to update the GES payroll and ensure that all recruitments meet official standards.

The directive has been copied to key officials within the Ministry of Education, signaling a significant step in the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance accountability within the education sector.
