Kwesi Pratt Jnr Criticises Minority Over Call to Remove Ablakwa
Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr has taken a swipe at the Minority in Parliament over their call for the dismissal of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, describing the move as misguided.
The Minority, at a press conference, accused the Foreign Affairs Minister of committing diplomatic blunders, citing Ghana’s inclusion on a recent United States list of countries facing immigrant visa restrictions. According to them, the development has dented Ghana’s international image and could negatively affect remittances and bilateral relations.
However, reacting to the claims, Mr. Pratt Jnr dismissed the arguments put forward by the Minority, insisting they were unconvincing and misplaced. He suggested that the opposition lawmakers should rather channel their energy into addressing more pressing national concerns instead of calling for the minister’s removal.
The Minority, led by Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh, maintains that Mr. Ablakwa’s approach to diplomacy, which they describe as “megaphone diplomacy,” poses a risk to Ghana’s foreign relations and economic interests.
