Asabee: “I Know the NPP Enough to Diagnose Its Challenges”
JHNews || Asabee’s message is clear: the NPP’s problems are internal, not external and he’s positioning himself as the “party doctor” ready to perform the surgery.
Former Information Minister and NPP National Chairman hopeful, Stephen Asamoah Boateng (popularly known as Asabee), has declared that his deep knowledge of the New Patriotic Party’s history and values positions him to restore discipline and unity within the party.
Speaking on radio in Kumasi, Asabee said the NPP needs a leader who understands its roots to “perform a proper surgical operation” on the current internal cracks. He recounted his political journey from resisting the Rawlings regime to helping shape the NPP after Ghana’s return to constitutional rule.
Asabee emphasized that the party’s foundational ideals — discipline, structure, and loyalty — have weakened, and that his mission is to rebuild trust and restore order ahead of the 2028 elections.
“I represent the leader who knows the make-up of the party. Together, we can retrace our steps, rebuild, and capture political power in 2028,” he stated.
