Ghana’s Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) and the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) have announced a remarkable $8.06 billion in foreign exchange earnings from small-scale gold exports between January and October 15, 2025.

According to the official GoldBod export data, a total of 81,719.22 kilograms of gold were exported within the period — representing a sharp surge from 63,647.22 kilograms recorded in 2024 and 37,454.01 kilograms in 2023.

The data highlights consistent growth across all months of 2025, with the highest exports recorded in May (11,068.55 kg; $1.17 billion) and September (10,353.58 kg; $1.16 billion).
