The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has firmly dismissed claims and speculations suggesting that President John Dramani Mahama intends to seek a third term in office, reaffirming its commitment to Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.

According to the party, President Mahama, who is serving a second non-consecutive term, remains bound by the constitutional two-term limit and has no intention of breaching the law. The NDC stressed that it has consistently upheld democratic principles and constitutional governance since its formation.

Party officials described the third-term narrative as misleading and politically motivated, urging the public to disregard such claims. They emphasized that President Mahama has publicly demonstrated respect for the rule of law in the past and continues to do so.

The NDC further noted that its focus remains on governance, economic recovery, and fulfilling campaign promises, rather than engaging in unconstitutional ambitions.
