The launch, held in Accra, was led by Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff, and Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, who both underscored the government’s vision to elevate Ghana as the undisputed cultural capital of Africa through innovation, heritage, and global engagement.

According to officials, this year’s edition builds on the resounding success of 2024, which saw over 200,000 international visitors flock to Ghana for a vibrant lineup of cultural festivals, concerts, and heritage tours. The 2025 campaign is expected to go beyond Accra, expanding activities across regions to highlight Ghana’s music, cuisine, fashion, art, and traditional celebrations.

“December in GH” has become a global cultural brand, an initiative that not only promotes tourism but also deepens ties between Ghana and the African diaspora, fostering investment, creativity, and shared identity.

The event also showcased partnerships with industry players, including the Ghana Tourism Authority, Beyond the Return Secretariat, and private sector stakeholders who promised to deliver a more inclusive and sustainable festival season.
