Addressing the media in Parliament, the Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei faulted the Attorney General and the Minister of Finance for usurping its powers  by ordering payment from an injuncted contigency fund.

The Minority referred to a letter from the Ag to the Governor of Bank of Ghana to release GH¢350M despite the same being a subject matter in a court process as garnishee (holding funds) court proceedings.

The Minority is further demanding the circumstances leading to Government of Ghana’s public funds without parliamentary information and releasing funds other sources rather than what has been approved by Parliament.

The deputy minority leader is therefore calling on the Government of Ghana to come agains and explain to Ghanaians which court and who garnisheed public funds and on what authority for his order.
