The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has refuted allegations that it received a payment of $3 million for its coverage of the 13th African Games.

Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) Director General, Prof. Amin Alhassan, has categorically denied claims made by Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, regarding a $3 million payment for GBC's coverage of the 13th African Games.

Minister Ussif had stated that GBC received a payment exceeding $3 million for its broadcasting services. However, Prof. Alhassan has refuted this, clarifying that GBC received only $105,000 as its official benefit.

He emphasized that no additional funds were received from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The $105,000 was used to support GBC's decision to dedicate a channel to the African Games, suspending regular programming on GTV Sports Plus for comprehensive coverage.

Prof. Alhassan's statement aims to clear up any confusion and provide accurate information on GBC's financial involvement in the event's coverage.
