Ga North, June 29, 2026 — Preliminary reports from the Ga North Municipal Assembly indicate that six people have lost their lives following the devastating rainfall that triggered severe flooding across parts of the municipality on Monday.

According to initial figures, the fatalities were recorded as follows:

  • Two deaths at Mile 7
  • Two deaths at Fish Pond
  • One death at 6 to 6, near Fish Pond
  • One death at Taifa Junction

The flooding has also caused extensive damage to property, with more than 20 houses affected and 15 compound walls collapsing due to the intensity of the rains.

Municipal authorities say assessment teams are still on the ground gathering information from affected communities, and the casualty and damage figures could increase as rescue and assessment operations continue.
