Thomas Partey quietly left for Europe after securing his first professional contract

Thomas Teye Partey, who began his football journey at Ashaiman's Division 2 club Revelation FC, later joined Tema Youth. His exceptional talent paved the way for a move to Spain, where
his dream of becoming a professional footballer took flight.

Ninfred Osei Kwaku Parma, the owner of Tema Youth FC, shared an intriguing and amusing story about Partey's sneaky departure to Spain.

On the night Partey was supposed to
travel, he told the team owner that he had a stomach upset and missed their game against Kotoko.

Later, Osei discovered that Partey had actually left to sign for Atlético Madrid.

There was no proper transfer arrangement, and when Tema Youth wrote to Atlético, the club never responded. At that point, Osei considered taking the matter to FIFA but was convinced by Moses Odjer to let it go for Partey's sake.

He eventually decided to hold back, knowing that Tema Youth could still benefit from a solidarity fee if Partey moved to another club

In the end, his patience paid off when Partey made a big-money move to Arsenal, securing a significant financial benefit for the club.

Tema Youth Football Club earned over €500,000 (approximately $590,000) in development fees following Thomas Partey's €50 million transfer from Atlético Madrid to Arsenal in October 2020.

This payment was part of FIFA's solidarity mechanism, which ensures a percentage of transfer fees is allocated to clubs involved in a player's development between the ages of 12
and 23.

Additionally, Revelation FC, another Ghanaian club linked to Partey's early career, received approximately €750,000 (around $885,000) from the same transfer.
