The decision comes after a string of disappointing results, including a 2-1 defeat to Germany and a 5-1 thrashing by Austria

Addo, who had been in charge of the Black Stars since March 2024, had guided the team to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup

However, his team's recent performances had raised concerns, with four consecutive defeats, including the two friendlies against Austria and Germany.

In a statement, the GFA expressed gratitude to Addo for his service and wished him well in his future endeavors. The association will announce a new technical direction for the Black Stars in due course.

Addo's sacking leaves Ghana with just 72 days to prepare for the World Cup, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia in Group L.

The team is scheduled to play friendlies against Mexico and Wales in May.
