In an official release dated March 2, the Embassy stated that the directive is in response to heightened tensions and unrest within the region. The registration, it explained, will enable the mission to effectively communicate with Ghanaian citizens, provide assistance, and, if necessary, coordinate evacuation arrangements.

The Embassy emphasized that the exercise applies to all Ghanaians in Qatar including students, workers, families, and visitors who have not yet registered.

Officials assured that all information submitted through the registration process will be treated with strict confidentiality and used solely for official emergency and consular purposes.

The mission further indicated that it will continue to provide updates through its official communication channels as the situation evolves.
