Ghana Prisons Service Confirms Agradaa is in Custody at Nsawam Prison

JHNews || Accra, July 9, 2025 – The Ghana Prisons Service has officially debunked rumours circulating on social media that controversial televangelist Nana Agradaa, also known as Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, is missing from prison custody.

In an interview on Adom TV’s Badwam Morning Show on Wednesday, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Prisons Service, ASP Adamu Latif, confirmed that Agradaa is currently being held at the Nsawam Female Prison.

“We all know that the court sentenced our sister and mother, Agradaa, for some crimes she committed,” ASP Latif stated. “Some videos going around claim that she has not arrived at the prison facility. I want to categorically state that Agradaa is in prison. We brought her to prison last Saturday. Agradaa is in our custody.”

According to the PRO, the embattled televangelist was transferred on Saturday, July 5, 2025, following her conviction and 15-year prison sentence handed down by Judge Evelyn E. Asamoah at Circuit Court 10 in Accra on July 3, 2025.

ASP Latif also addressed questions about the delay in her transfer, citing administrative procedures and standard protocols that must be followed after sentencing before inmates are moved to designated facilities.

The Prisons Service further dismissed rumours alleging that Agradaa had been physically assaulted since her arrival at the facility.

“There has been no assault on Agradaa, either by officers or fellow inmates,” Latif assured. “The rights of inmates are respected and protected. Even prison officers are not permitted to physically assault any inmate, and we ensure that no one is allowed to abuse another in our custody.”

The statement comes amid heightened public interest and speculation surrounding the high-profile incarceration of the former spiritualist turned televangelist, who was convicted on multiple charges related to fraudulent activities.
