PARTY POLITICS HAS DIVIDED OUR PARLIAMENTARIANS WHICH AFFECTS OUR DEMOCRACY- JUSTICE ATUGUBA

Former Supreme Court Justice,  Justice William Atuguba has lamented how party politics has divided Parliamentarians of Ghana which is affecting our democracy poorly.

Speaking during 20th Anniversary Celebration Memorial Lecture of Justice F.D Annan, First Speaker of Parliament of the Fourth Republic, Justice Atuguba further explained that, Party Politics has become more important to some MP’s than serving the ordinary citizens in the Country. 

He admitted that though some Parliamentarians are doing well and not channel on the ways of other members who have their Political Parties interests first began the nation. 

He mentioned both Omane Boamah and Muntala Mohammed who died in plane crushed as fine gentlemen who served well and were and have the nation at heart.

He slammed politicians who ignored electorates after elections to bow their head in shame. 

 “Politicians can go all the way to pound fufu, wash people’s clothes but after elections such people become enemies by not answering their phones calls why is it so”. He said.
