Julius Debrah: 24-Hour Economy Key to Boosting Local Businesses
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah says the government’s 24-hour economy initiative will remove barriers and provide financing and market access to help local businesses thrive and create jobs.

JHNews || Accra, September 7, 2025 — Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a 24-hour economy, describing it as a transformative policy to remove barriers to growth and create fertile ground for Ghanaian enterprises.
Speaking at the This Is Ghana Exhibition in Accra, Mr. Debrah said the initiative will unlock new opportunities, streamline operations, and empower local businesses to compete globally. He praised state agencies such as the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Exim Bank, and the Ghana Enterprises Agency for their support in broadening access to finance and strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises.
Mr. Debrah urged Ghanaians to prioritize indigenous products, noting that patronizing locally made goods would fortify industries, create jobs, and invigorate the national economy. “You are not merely showcasing products; you are showcasing Ghana’s future,” he told exhibitors.
He added that reducing reliance on foreign imports will have a direct positive impact on development and employment, assuring stakeholders that government will continue to create an enabling environment for business growth.
The annual This Is Ghana Exhibition has become a key platform for showcasing Ghana’s entrepreneurial spirit, connecting businesses with consumers and potential investors.
