Six Cars Seized from Lord Commey’s Residence in Midnight Raid Returned
  1. Six vehicles that were seized from the residence of Lord Commey, a prominent political figure and former Director of Operations at the Presidency, during a midnight raid have been returned.

The raid, which reportedly took place on January 30, 2025, was conducted by officials from the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee as part of their efforts to investigate alleged misappropriation of state resources. Sources close to the operation stated that the vehicles were suspected to be state-owned assets improperly acquired.

The seizure sparked widespread controversy, with Commey’s legal team and associates vehemently denying any wrongdoing. They maintained that all six vehicles were legally acquired and registered under his name.

Following further investigations, the vehicles were returned to Commey on February 2, 2025. In a statement, his lawyers expressed relief over the return of the cars but criticized the raid, describing it as “an unwarranted act of harassment.”

“We have consistently maintained that Mr. Lord Commey’s assets were legitimately acquired. The return of the vehicles vindicates his position. However, the approach taken in this matter was highly inappropriate and unnecessary,” the statement read.

The ORAL Committee, which has been tasked with recovering alleged state assets, has yet to issue a formal response to the development.

Meanwhile, political analysts have raised concerns about the tactics employed by the committee, questioning whether such midnight operations undermine due process and create a perception of politically motivated actions.

Commey has remained tight-lipped about the incident, but sources close to him suggest he is considering legal action to challenge the raid and protect his reputation.
