Building Collapse Traps Two at North Industrial Area; Rescue Efforts Underway

Accra, Ghana — Emergency responders are racing against time after a building collapsed at the North Industrial Area near Melcom Plus in Accra, leaving at least two people trapped beneath the debris.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Police Service, and other emergency agencies have been deployed to the scene to conduct rescue operations and ensure the safety of surrounding structures.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud crash before the structure gave way, prompting panic among residents and workers in the area. Rescue teams are using specialized equipment to carefully remove debris in an effort to reach the trapped victims.

Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the collapse, while investigations are expected to begin once rescue operations are completed.
