In a statement issued on March 29, the Ministry described the allegations circulating on social media as “false and without any basis,” urging the public to disregard the claims.

The controversy follows a viral video showing Sports Minister Kofi Adams interacting with a group of individuals at an airport, which some interpreted as evidence of state-sponsored travel. However, the Ministry clarified that the individuals were not known to the Minister and that the interaction was purely incidental.

Authorities further stressed that the Minister travelled alone on official duty to engage the Black Stars and their technical team ahead of the friendly matches in Germany.

The Ministry also emphasised that no public funds or corporate sponsorship were used to support any fans or third parties for the trip, and no arrangements were made to facilitate travel for supporters.

The clarification comes amid heightened public scrutiny as Ghana prepares for international friendlies as part of build-up activities toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
