Tenants’ Union Backs Youth Coalition’s #RentMustBeReduced Campaign
NATUG has thrown its weight behind the #RentMustBeReduced movement, pledging solidarity with Ghanaian youth in their demand for urgent housing reforms.

JHNews || Accra, September 2, 2025 — The National Tenants’ Union of Ghana (NATUG) has declared full support for the National Coalition of Youth Against High Rent, popularly known by its campaign hashtag, #RentMustBeReduced.
In a strongly worded statement, NATUG praised the “courage and clarity of purpose” of the youth movement, which has been mobilizing nationwide against unaffordable housing and exploitative rental practices.
“As the foremost advocate for tenant rights and housing justice in the Fourth Republic, NATUG assures the Coalition of our full support and readiness to collaborate,” the statement said. The Union emphasized that the fight for affordable housing must now become “the most consequential housing campaign in our nation’s democratic history.”
The Union called on Ghanaians to unite and mobilize for bold reforms, urging action from both the Jubilee House and Parliament.
