Bryan Acheampong Urges Unity, Discipline in NPP Flagbearer Race

Accra, August 26, 2025 – New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful and Abetifi MP, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has called for unity and restraint among party members as the contest to lead the party heats up.

In a statement titled “A Call to Unity and Discipline in Our Internal Contest,” Dr. Acheampong acknowledged coming under what he described as a barrage of attacks and falsehoods aimed at questioning his character. He stressed, however, that his focus remains on “restoration, not retaliation.”

“This is a contest of ideas, of leadership, and of vision of power in focus. And it must be treated with the respect it deserves,” he said.

The presidential hopeful urged his supporters to avoid intemperate language, personal attacks, and the circulation of fake materials, cautioning them not to mirror the very tactics they oppose.

Dr. Acheampong emphasized that the NPP’s strength has historically come from discipline, dignity, and unity — not division. He framed his campaign as part of a broader movement to rebuild the party ahead of the 2028 elections.

“Let our words heal, not harm. Let our actions inspire, not inflame,” he said, adding: “Together, we unite. Together, we rebuild.”
