Nkrumah Picked Up the Colonial Government's Blueprint - Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah
Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah said Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah, advanced development plans originally set by the British colonial government. He noted that while Nkrumah deserves credit for implementing these blueprints, Ghana’s growth should reflect the combined visions of all past and present leaders, not just one individual’s legacy.

Member of the New Patrotic Party (NPP), Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has revealed that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah inherited the colonial government's plan which was already at its implementation phase.
Speaking on Citi Tv's BreakfastDaily Show, he mentioned that as leader it is important to work with a vision that seeks to develop the country collectively. Dr. Palgrave noted that there is the need to include the visions of predecessors that seeks to develop and push the country forward. He cited, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as one of such leaders, who used the plan by the colonial masters and his vision in developing the country.
''We all love Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He was such an Excellent gentleman. He was the first President of Ghana, and he picked up leadership from the colonial masters. The colonial masters had already placed the blueprint and majority of what was left was an implementation plan''.
He revealed that, before Ghana gianed independence, the country was under the British rule and there were plans by Queen Elizabeth to develop the country, but Dr. Kwame Nkrumah had to implement those plans after Ghana gained independence that why he was given credence in that regard.
''Before Dr. Kwame Nkrumah became the President, because he was Prime Minister, Ghana was under the leadership of Queen Elizabeth. So there was a blueprint of what was going to be done. It so happened that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was the leader of government and so majority of the credit goes to him''.
He stressed that he doesn't agree with the concept or idea that every leader must follow one person's vision as the only was of developing the country. He indicated that, all past leaders had their own visions for the country and such putting more emphasis on a single leader's vision as the only way forward is not the right call.
''Every leader has a vision for the country. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah had his vision for Ghana, J.A Busiah had his vision for Ghana, Hila Liman had his vision for Ghana, Kotoka, Afrifa, had their vision for Ghana, Acheampong, Jerry John Rawlings, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Kufuor, Mills, every leader had their vision for Ghana. But that's why i don't want to dwell on one particular leader's vision for Ghana and situate in the context that all of us must follow that particular leader's vision for Ghana''.
