Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 during statement time, the Nhyiaeso lawmaker stressed developing entrepreneurs will go a long to benefit the country. He again stressed the need for deliberate policies that support entrepreneurship, innovation, and small business growth, particularly among the youth. He said, developing entrepreneurs will go a long to benefit the country.

He called on the Education Ministry to include entrepreneurship into the JHS & SHS curriculum so as to stimulate interest and build entrepreneurial leaders for society

While government and the private sector continue to provide employment, Dr. Stephen Amoah reckons that these efforts alone are not enough to absorb the growing number of young people entering the job market.

His call comes in the wake of growing concerns about youth unemployment and underemployment across the country. He said Ghana must move beyond an overreliance on formal salaried jobs and instead empower citizens with the skills, financing, and institutional support needed to build and scale their own businesses.

The Nhyiaeso Member of Parliament further urged government agencies, financial institutions, and educational bodies to work together to nurture start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises, describing them as the backbone of a resilient economy.

Commenting on the statement by Hon. Stephen Amoah, Chairman of Education Committee in Parliament Hon.Peter Nortsu-Kotoe added that including entrepreneurship into curricula would shape minds.

He proposed its inclusion in subjects like social studies at pre-tertiary and in the university.

The Akatsi North legislator however observed a worrying trend in basic schoo l where learners are unable to read and write, a situation entrepreneurship can address.
