Ghana Weightlifting Enters New Era with Renovated Training Center
In a significant milestone for Ghanaian sports, the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF) has commissioned a renovated National Weightlifting Training Center at the Accra Sports Stadium. This state-of-the-art facility is poised to elevate Ghana's weightlifting ambitions, providing a world-class training ground for athletes to compete at the highest level
The renovated center boasts modern changing rooms, restrooms, and a full suite of training equipment, thanks to the unwavering support of key stakeholders, including President Ben Nunoo-Mensah, Mr. Isaac Tetteh, and Multi Pro Ghana Limited.
GWF President Jerry Ahmed Shaib, who commissioned the facility, expressed his gratitude to the Hon. Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, and other dignitaries present. Shaib emphasized the center's role in nurturing young talent and enhancing Ghana's competitiveness on the global stage.
In another exciting development, Ghana is set to host the 2025 Africa Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship from August 15-22, 2025. This prestigious event will bring together Africa's future weightlifting stars, marking a proud moment for the country.
