Super Eagles Call Off Strike, Set to Resume Training Ahead of Crucial Play-Off Against Gabon
The Super Eagles have ended their strike and will resume training this evening, ahead of their crucial African play-off match against Gabon on Thursday. The team had boycotted training on Tuesday over unpaid bonuses and allowances, but Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and National Sports Commission (NSC) officials intervened to resolve the issue.
Captain William Troost-Ekong confirmed the development, stating, "Issue RESOLVED. Outstanding financials cleared and on ground. The team is united and focused as before on representing Nigeria with our maximum for the games ahead".
The Super Eagles will face Gabon at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, with the winner advancing to the final against either Cameroon or DR Congo. Let's hope the team can put their best foot forward and secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
