Residents of Asofan Capital Hills Lament Persistent Power Outages
Accra — Residents of Asofan Capital Hills in the Trobu Constituency have expressed growing frustration over recurring power outages, which they say are disrupting daily life and raising security concerns.
According to the residents, electricity supply is frequently cut off around 7:00 p.m. each day by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), leaving the community in prolonged darkness.
They argue that the situation has created a conducive environment for criminal activity, with reports of increased fear among households as thieves allegedly take advantage of the outages.
Residents also highlighted the impact on education, noting that schoolchildren are unable to study at night and are forced to complete homework in the early hours of the morning, often resulting in delays to school.
Despite lodging complaints with ECG, the issue remains unresolved. The affected residents are now calling on authorities to urgently intervene and restore stable power supply to the area.
