Koforidua High Court Jails 25-Year-Old Woman 12 Years for Fatal Acid Attack
Koforidua — A 25-year-old woman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Koforidua High Court for her role in a fatal acid attack on her boyfriend.
The convict, Vera Asare, was found guilty of manslaughter after admitting to pouring acid on her partner, Daniel Omane, while he was asleep.
Court proceedings revealed that the victim suffered severe injuries and was hospitalised for several months before eventually succumbing to his condition.
The sentence followed a plea agreement, with the court imposing a 12-year custodial term.
The case has reignited concerns about domestic violence and the dangers associated with acid attacks in Ghana.
