The clarification follows reports and public activities involving Alhaji Sibamay Zakaria, whose name had reportedly been linked to the Hajj administration.

The Hajj authorities have therefore moved to clarify that he does not represent the Board or act on its behalf.

The development is significant because the Ghana Hajj administration is responsible for coordinating Ghanaian pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj, making it important for the public to distinguish between officially authorised representatives and individuals acting independently.

The Pilgrims Affairs Office is understood to have cautioned the public against associating Alhaji Sibamay Zakaria with its official activities or positions.

The clarification also comes amid growing public interest in the activities of individuals claiming links to religious and pilgrimage institutions.
