This Government Is Not Serious About Fighting Galamsey - Fahd Osman

Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Team, Fahd Osman has stated that the NDC government lack seriousness in the fight against Galamsey.

Speaking on Citi Tv's BreakfastDaily, he mentioned that form all indications there seem to be no commitment from the government in the fight against illegal mining in the country. 

''From where I sit, I don't see this government putting out any effort. Where is the commitment''?

He argued that the new measures by the new administration like the Blue Water Guards are just redesigned old methods that couldn't materialized, blaming the government for breaking its own anti-galamsey promises.

''Blue Water Guard was in existence before this government. All the approaches this administration is running are rebranding of existing initiatives which he claim was not effective, but yet you find the need in rebranding them''.

He further stated that it the responsibility of the opposition to state the lack of real interest on the part of the government in the fight against galamsey.

''All the efforts put in place by this current administration, departs from the promises they made in opposition. If as an opposition party we don't have the right to make these claims, or to recall or to redraw the attention of government to these issues then I don't see our impact in this democracy''.
