Bawku SH/TS Triumphs in Regional Islamic Quiz Competition

The highly anticipated regional quiz competition for Muslim students culminated in a thrilling finale, with six schools from across the region vying for the top spot. After an intense battle of wits, Bawku SH/TS emerged victorious, showcasing their exceptional knowledge of Islamic studies, Qur'anic recitation, and current affairs.
The competition, which featured schools from the Central, Eastern, and North-Western zones, saw Bawku SH/TS top the leaderboard with 39 points, narrowly edging out Bawku SHS, who scored 38 points. Awe SH/TS and Gowrie SH/TS followed closely, securing third and fourth positions with 30 and 27 points, respectively.
Abdul-Hakim Abdul-Razak, National Vice-Chairman of the Ghana Muslim Students Association (GMSA), emphasized the importance of knowledge acquisition in Islam, citing the first verse of the Holy Qur'an, which highlights the significance of seeking knowledge. He expressed concern about the high illiteracy rates in the Muslim community and urged parents to prioritize their children's formal education.
"We call on every Muslim parent to ensure their child receives both Islamic and secular education," Abdul-Razak said. "By working together, we can build a brighter future for the Muslim community and the nation as a whole."
Ayaaba-Nafiu Mahamuod, a member of the winning team, expressed gratitude for their victory and encouraged Muslim youth to continue seeking knowledge in Islam. "We are proud to have emerged victorious, and we urge our peers to strive for excellence in their studies," he said.
