Breaking News: Fire Engulfs China Mall Warehouse at Santasi, Kumasi
JHNews || Another day, another fire, this time at Kumasi’s China Mall warehouse. As goods go up in flames, the question remains: when will Ghana take fire safety and inspection seriously before disaster strikes again?

Kumasi, October 29, 2025 — Chaos erupted this afternoon as fire gutted the China City Mall located near the Santasi Roundabout in Kumasi.
Eyewitnesses say the fire started around midday, rapidly spreading through parts of the shopping complex known for housing electronics, clothing, and general goods. Thick smoke billowed into the sky, forcing nearby businesses and commuters to flee for safety.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were quickly deployed to the scene but faced challenges accessing water and controlling the blaze due to the intensity of the fire and congestion around the area.
No casualties have been confirmed yet, though several shops and warehouses have been completely destroyed, with millions of cedis worth of goods lost.
