The woman, identified as Lindain, revealed in a viral interview that she relocated abroad in December 2023 in search of better opportunities but returned to Ghana in December 2025 after facing financial challenges.

According to her, finding a job after completing her studies proved difficult, largely due to her academic programme. Although she eventually secured employment, she struggled to meet her basic expenses.

She noted that earning about $17 per hour was insufficient to cover rent, food, and other living costs, leaving her unable to save.

The decision to return home, she said, was initially met with resistance from family and friends, many of whom questioned why she would leave Canada after relocating.

She further indicated that her experience might have been different if she had pursued a health-related course, where job opportunities are more readily available.

The story has since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some supporting her decision while others highlighted the challenges many migrants face abroad.
