Government Reaffirms Support for Ghana’s Film Industry at National Dialogue
JHNews || At a national film dialogue in Accra, the government pledged stronger support for Ghana’s movie sector, with leaders and creatives charting a path to better financing, infrastructure, and global visibility.

“Film is not only entertainment but a mirror of our society, a vessel of our heritage, and a bridge to the world,” declared Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, delivering a keynote on behalf of Minister Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie at the National Film Industry Dialogue in Accra.
The event, hosted by the National Film Authority (NFA) at the University of Ghana’s Cedi Conference Centre, convened government officials, diplomats, industry leaders, and creative professionals to tackle pressing issues such as financing, market access, and production infrastructure.
Under the theme “Accelerating Industry Development,” participants discussed strategies for job creation, tourism promotion, foreign investment, digital innovation, and boosting the global presence of Ghanaian cinema.
Stakeholders voiced optimism that the dialogue will drive reforms and attract investments critical to unlocking the film industry’s full potential.
