LAUNCH OF FREE SANITARY PADS FOR SCHOOL GIRLS.

A week ago - on Thursday 24th April, 2025 - President John Dramani Mahama launched the Free Sanitary Pad Distribution Programme to promote gender equality and improve school attendance among girls.

The initiative will provide free sanitary pads to girls from Primary 5 through Senior High School nationwide.

Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, emphasized its importance in ensuring menstrual dignity and supporting the education of vulnerable girls.

The launch ceremony, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, comes as a fulfilment of one of President Mahama's major social commitments.

The event brought together ministers of state, civil society organizations, traditional leaders, educators, and pupils.
