Majority Leader Dismisses Reports of A Plus’ Removal from Parliamentary WhatsApp Group

Accra, May 3, 2025 — The Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has issued a strong rebuttal to claims that Hon. Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has been removed from the Majority Caucus WhatsApp platform.

In a press statement released today, Hon. Ayariga described the report—published by GhanaWeb on May 3—as “entirely false and misleading.” The article in question had suggested that A Plus was removed from the platform following a reported disagreement with the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame Ayine.

“For the avoidance of doubt,” the Majority Leader clarified, “Hon. Kwame Asare Obeng remains a full member of the Majority Caucus in Parliament and continues to be on the official WhatsApp platform.” He emphasized that no such decision had been made by the Caucus leadership.

Calling for calm, Hon. Ayariga urged the public to disregard the report and treat it with “the contempt it deserves,” stressing that the leadership of the Majority Caucus remains focused and united in its parliamentary responsibilities.

The statement also called on GhanaWeb to retract the publication and issue a correction to prevent furthermore misinformation
