Government to Revamp Metro Mass Transit, Introduce 24-Hour Bus Service
JHNews || Government says Metro Mass Transit will be fully restored with a new 24-hour bus service to improve mobility nationwide. Authorities argue the reform will reduce congestion, cut delays, and offer round-the-clock transport convenience for citizens.

Accra, October 3, 2025 — The government has unveiled plans to revive Metro Mass Transit (MMT) and roll out a 24-hour bus service across the country.
Deputy Minister for Transport announced that the initiative will restore MMT to full operational capacity, ease the nation’s chronic transport challenges, and make commuting more convenient for Ghanaians, especially workers, students, and traders who depend heavily on public transport.
The plan forms part of government’s wider strategy to modernize Ghana’s transport system under the 24-hour economy agenda.
