President Mahama Takes Swift Action on ORAL Committee Report

In a move to tackle corruption head-on, I have directed the Attorney General to initiate immediate investigations into the findings of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee. The committee, chaired by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, presented its report on Monday, revealing a staggering 2,417 complaints of suspected corruption.

The ORAL committee's report highlights various cases of corruption, including the sale of government lands to officials, MPs, and ministers at suspiciously low prices. The committee estimates that if successful in recovering stolen assets, Ghana could retrieve as much as $20.49 billion.

As President, I am committed to ensuring that Ghana is no longer a safe haven for corruption. I expect the Attorney General to work diligently to investigate the findings of the ORAL committee and bring those responsible to justice.

The ORAL committee's work is a significant step towards promoting transparency and accountability in Ghana. I commend the committee for their tireless efforts and look forward to seeing the results of the Attorney General's investigations.
